Although Easter is rooted in religious tradition, it also heralds the arrival of spring. Flora begins to bloom once more, lambs frolic in the meadows, and birds busily set about building their nests.

Eggs have always filled me with a sense of wonder. That a shell of lime can cradle a tiny chick is, to my mind, nothing short of fascinating. Over the years, they have become a recurring subject in my paintings. For 2026, I am delighted to present my Easter Nest; a blackbird’s nest, adorned with a single golden Easter egg.
